Welcome to the website of the Fairford, Faringdon, Filkins and Burford Ploughing Society. Hopefully this site will give you all the information you need to help you enjoy your day out at the show, held annually on the last Saturday in September.

The 2014 Ploughing Match and Country Show will be held on Saturday 27th September on the Shifford Manor Farm, Old Shifford, Nr Standlake, Witney, Oxon OX29 7QS. By kind permission of Mr & Mrs James Hook

The Gates open to the public at 8.30am.

Admission to the ploughing match and country show will be:

  • £8 Adults
  • £5 Children and Seniors
  • under 5's free
There is a free car park and dogs are welcome (especially terriers).

Ploughing and Hedgelaying competitions start at 9.30am
Horse and Garden tractors competitions start at 10am
Main ring attractions start at 11am
Prize giving at 5pm

The Main Marquee will have a public bar, a Members section, the Craft Tent and the Homecraft section which includes the Grain competition. Around the showground as well as many trade stands and refreshment stands there will be a fun fair, a band playing, ferret racing, the poultry tent, reptile rescue and the Cotswold Carthorses with a fine display of working horses. The working area will include a thrashing machine, thatchers, dry stone wallers, wood sawing and several steam engines and also spinning from a raw fleece to a finished jumper. And of course there is ploughing by horses,steam engines and tractors (vintage and new).
